About

It is my personal mission to empower women using my fashion expertise and business knowledge.

During my fashion career, I’ve explored fashion as a form of personal expression. Most recently, researching social psych studies focused on appearance and clothing brought it all full circle. This last year I’ve written a book to be published in 2020, POWER of Appearance. It explains so much of what we suspected about our clothing and it’s importance.

In my role as a fashion buyer and merchandiser for large and small business including owning my own, I was off to NYC spending millions on my favorite designers. My customers have always benefitted from fashion options that met their specific needs and usually weren’t available off-the-rack. This was my practice when I owned Karen’s in Lousiville, KY, I managed to get cutting tickets down as small as size 4’s for my petite clients, at a time when most designers’ sizes started at 8.

At that same operation and at other buying positions, I imported one-of-a-kind fashion from artists around the world including our own SoHo New York City artists. A select group was developed to help create textiles that were needed but not yet available. Some hand-painted large bolts of silk crepe-de-chine in large abstracts. In a studio, they were made into one-of-a-kind silk kimonos and pajamas – perfect for the many fun VIP Derby parties. Other artists used their looms to weave lurex knits in fashion colors made into sweaters and wraps. Another group hand-blocked cotton knits in black and white and bright geometrics for summer fun capris and tees. When it was legal, we had snakeskin bags in hot pink, chrome yellow, turquoise, and grass green. As you can imagine, these items would be just as fashionable today! It was the beginning of a huge trend. Wearable art is such a timeless treasure for any wardrobe. Keep an eye out for an upcoming eBook on this very subject.

Now in California via Atlanta and New York, I continue to style a small group of professional and socially active women. It’s my hope that you benefit from the website offerings at no cost to you: newsletters, podcasts, fashion posts, and information. It has all been created just for you!
